Walk etiquette program
Our services help your dog become a better canine citizen in your neighbourhood, while visiting our city's beautiful parks or while exploring trails. We help you communicate more effectively with your dog. We teach your dog skills and alternative behaviours that they enjoy learning helping them to become more confident! Our goal is for you to have a better behaved companion on your walks and hikes.

In this walk and train program your dog will learn great manners on leash and you will have an enjoyable walking companion. As part of the program we give you a tutorial on how to walk your dog!

This program is tailored to fit the individual needs of your dog and is great for dogs of all ages.

Requirements:

Well-socialized with dogs and people- no reactive dogs.

No history of aggression or resource guarding.
-
Good leash manners (we walk to and from the vehicle on leash).

1 day per week minimum to gain the maximum benefits of the training routine.

Monthly Memberships:
Memberships reserve your dog’s regular weekly hiking days and provide consistent monthly billing. Fees are calculated using 46 weeks per year and divided into 12 equal monthly payments. This already accounts for four weeks of scheduled business closures and two weeks of client absences, based on your dog’s regular weekly attendance. GST is additional.

Membership fees remain the same each month regardless of the number of service days in that particular month. Cancellation and absence policies apply.
Our Trail Etiquette Training Program is designed for dogs who already have foundational skills in basic cues, leash manners, handler engagement and recall.
Over two to four sessions, we build on your dog’s existing skills and introduce the specific routines needed for a safe and successful transition into our off-leash adventure hiking group. Because being picked up and heading out without their family can feel unfamiliar, each dog is introduced gradually and at their own pace.
During the program, we:
• Build on your dog’s existing recall, engagement and leash skills
• Introduce vehicle entry and exit routines, including car-door threshold safety
• Practise emergency recall and trail-etiquette skills
• Introduce the “Follow the Leader” cue for walking safely behind the handler
• Gradually introduce your dog to group walking
• Build trust and connection between your dog and their handler
• Arrange an introduction with a compatible hiking companion before their first group adventure
Dogs should already have basic foundational skills before beginning the Trail Etiquette Training Program. If your dog is still developing these skills, please contact us to discuss private foundational training options before applying for adventure hikes.
